Health Care, Fire, Rescue and Ambulance Services
Holbrook supports an active Fire Department and EMT squad with a hospital located just 9 miles away in Cambridge. Rural health clinics are found equal distances from Holbrook, to the east in Arapahoe and to the west in Cambridge. A hospital facility is located in Cambridge with two full time doctors and four physician assistants.
There are also physical therapists located in both towns. Larger hospitals can be found in McCook, 40 minutes west of Holbrook; Lexington, 40 miles north; and Holdrege, just 40 miles east. Medical specialists in all major fields can be found in Kearney, 60 minutes northeast of Holbrook, which also provides Life-Flight care to the area within minutes.
